About Selby Asphalt Maintenance

Selby Asphalt Maintenance was founded in 1993, while Mike Selby was employed by a major asphalt and road building company in South Central Kentucky. It started out as primarily an Asphalt Sealing Company and went by the name of Selby Asphalt Sealing Inc. From 1993 to 1995, the company went through numerous growing pains. In 1995, the name was changed to Selby Asphalt Maintenance, with the encouragement from the Asphalt Company in with Mr. Selby was working, the company took on a new “roll”. Pot hole repair was done on city streets and county roads not to mention any and all private contracts. That same year, Mr. Selby left the company he worked for to dedicate himself full time to his own company.

In 1997, the company was certified by the state of Kentucky to work on airports across the state. As of now, Selby Asphalt Maintenance is one of the oldest maintenance contractors still employed with Aviation in the state of Kentucky. With that, the company received more exposure throughout the state of Kentucky and did business with many counties and asphalt companies from Pikeville to Paducah. The companies growth continued to excel. In 2001, Mr. Selby’s son, Brandon, joined the company full time after graduating from Lexington Community College. Having grown up within the business, Brandon worked his way up from the bottom staring as a laborer. In 2012, he stepped into the “roll” of Vice President/General Manager. Then in 2019, he stepped into the “roll” of President/GM. Although the company’s day to day operation is in the capable hands of his son, Mr. Mike Selby has actively stayed in his office and retains his “roll” as Chairman of the Board.
